Along with 7 individuals/small teams of designers, makers, and artists, I was commissioned to create bespoke furniture for Bok Bar. The bar sits atop the roof of BOK, formerly Edward W. Bok Technical High School, a vocational school designed by Irwin Catharine and built in 1938. BOK has recently been under aggressive revitalization as a “center for creatives, small-businesses, non-profits, small-batch manufacturers and beyond.”
I produced a series of furniture inspired by the geometric graphic design of Bok Bar and Memphis Design along with sketches and artworks by Rem Koolkhaas, and Bauhaus students.
I also created an additional piece for Yowie, a home and life shop focused on curating small collections from friends, independent artists, and designers.
